Spycella is an e-commerce company providing herbal products for the coily community exclusively on www.spycella.com.

If you’re a wholesaler wishing to have Spycella’s products in your store, email us at [email protected]

6. Does spycella's customer service respond quickly to emails?

During weekdays, spycella checks all emails until midnight. However, on the weekends, hours may vary. But our team is always up-to-date with providing the best service to our customers.

7. Do your products have shea butter?

Because of its density, we preferred to exclude shea butter in our recipes. We wanted our products to be light and able to melt fast into the hair and skin, which required an ice cream/creamy consistency.

In the future, we hope to formulate more goodies not excluding this time, our famous organic shea butter.

8. How can I collab with Spycella?

You can send us an email or reach us on Instagram (spycellacosmetics). Our DMS and emails are always open.

If it's urgent, and we have not gotten back to you within 72 hours, you may reach out to our CEO on Instagram (francesca_digitals), or call us (786) 300-1301.

Then we will discuss how you can join the spyce family and be a reliable asset to us.

9. Do you ship outside of the U.S?

As of right now, no. Due to high shipping costs, we currently only serve customers within the U.S.

However, by spring, thanks to our partnership with Shippex, we’ll be able to ship to all departments in Haiti exclusively. At this time, no other international countries are included beyond the U.S. and Haiti.

10. What inspired you to start Spycella?

It all began with a friend who loved DIYs and encouraged me to experiment with ayurvedic herbs. I created a moisturizer that, for the first time, actually worked for my hair. That moment changed everything! I knew I had to share it so others could experience the same relief and confidence.

Later, after being disappointed by a hair brand I trusted, I realized how hard it was to find products that truly deliver results. That’s when I made it my mission to create a brand that’s both effective and effortless — products that work on their own, without needing a shelf full of extras.

11. Where does the name come from?

The name Spycella comes from “Spice” and “Cells.”
Spice represents the Haitian herbs and natural ingredients (our epis) that I use in my recipes — a nod to my roots and culture. Cells represent the scalp and hair we must nourish and care for. To make it softer and feminine, I added an -a, and that’s how Spycella was born.

12. What inspired you to use spices as a hair remedy?

Spices and herbs are heavily valued in Haitian culture. We use them in our cuisine but also as health remedies. Spices hold many benefits for the skin, including our hair. Though, they all play a significant part in my recipes.

13. How to know what type of hair you have?

First, you have to examine your texture or curl pattern. The shape of your hair follicle will specify if your hair is:

  • Curly (Type 3)
  • Coily (Type 4)
  • Wavy (Type 2)

To make it simple, your hair got a design. You can easily see it when you take a single hair strand to have a close look at its shape.

Bear in mind that I am exclusively familiar with types 3 and 4.

Type 4a- S or Springy dense pattern

        4b- Bends in a Z pattern

4c-  Spiral, like a tight zigzag

Type 3a- Loose/Large curls

        3b-Springy curls

        3c-Tight corkscrew curls

14. Are there allergens that we should be aware of from your products?

Our moisturizers have the herbs mentioned in the descriptions. However, the body butters may contain nuts and fruity oils (Grapefruits, Vanilla Coconut, Lemon, and Others).

15. What is the shelf life of your products?

The oils and body butter last for a year and the moisturizers range from 6 to 8 months.

16. How do your products work?

     a. The aloe moisturizer is an ayurvedic cream that strengthens the hair shaft and deeply moisturizes it.

It's not only a moisturizing cream. It's a treatment altogether.

    b. The hibiscus hydrates the hair and is great for neat braiding styles.

Both moisturizers can be used alone on the hair which lasts 3-5 days. That way, the number of products used in the consumer's hair care routine may reduce.

c. As for the hair growth oil, it moisturizes the scalp and promotes healthy growth.

17. When did you register your business?

I started making my first local sales about late August 2020. Then I legally registered my business in April 2021.

8. Are the thrift proceeds used for charity?
A portion of the profits goes directly into supporting Haitian communities. Baby items (diapers, toys, etc.) and foods are given entirely as charity. All other items are sold at low, accessible prices to make them available to those in the community who need them.

9. Do you sell thrifted items online?
Thrifted items are only resold locally in Haiti. However, we plan to list selected pieces online in the Spring.

10. What inspired Spycella Thrifts?

Spycella Thrifts was born from the belief that beauty and compassion belong together.

After the earthquake in Haiti on January 12, 2010, my family and I — my mom, my little brother who was almost two at the time, and my grandmother — were trapped when a wall fell on us. I was suffocating beneath the rubble, unable to move. Thanks to our loving neighbors, we were rescued in time. That experience showed me the power of community and the value of helping one another. We shared food, received clothing, and felt the generosity of others, even from neighboring countries.

I always cherished the beauty of giving— taught by my mother, Dolorène Mondesir. She always dreamed of giving back but couldn’t due to limited resources. Now, she is our official partner, helping Spycella Thrifts bring kindness to those in need in Haiti.

Thank you, Mom — this is for you. I love you.
